Founded in 1295 RB, following a short but brutal civil war against the Umbertid crown, the Imperial Republic of Ovgena, also known as **Ovgenian Empire**, **Eastern Ovgena** and colloquially as **The Hierarchical Empire** has since emerged as one of the major Erathia powers under the rule of [[Hiearchy|the Hierarchy]]. Through conquests and isolationism, the Hierarchy has brought the Empire to its apex, and given a new purpose to a population that suffered of the impotency of a [[Umbertihl Dynasty|long faltering line of queens]]. It is bordered by the [[Ovgenian Sea]] in the north, the [[Shivering Ocean]] to the west, and the [[Uncrossable Sea]] to the northeast and east. Its land borders consist of [[Nirim]] in the northeast, and [[Jadeth]] and [[Bal Zafren]] in the southeast. All three of this borders are contested to this day as part of the [[Coast War]] with [[Nirim]], and the less documented [[Spot War]] in the [[Kundarlans]] against the indigenous Jaden and Baleth. Except for the northeast and southeat, the Empire's borders are roughly delineated by natural boundaries and geographic features : to the west and south, the [[Travakoram]] chain, and in all other directions that are not contested, coastal borders with the various bodies of water. Its territory lies mostly between the latitudes -1°N and -22°N, and longitudes 21°E and 46°E. It's thus mostly affected by the tropical climate zone, with some variations largely determined by altitude. At the end of the 16th century of the [[Reign of Blood]], the Imperial Republic of Ovgena is the largest known nation on Erathia, covering an area of around 5,045,000 km² according to our cartographer's survey. ### Geographical Features ## Climate ## Ecology # POLITICS Over the course of its almost 300 years history, the Ovgenian Empire has devised and put into actions a strong doctrine that has served as the backbone of every decisions taken by the Hierarchy. This doctrine is often worded as such : "*Only through a final, radical, total war, can we put an end to war and history.*" This doctrine was born from the long history of aggressions between the Western and Eastern Queendoms following the [[Blaze]]. While [[Aspectdom of Ovgena|Western Ovgena]] faltered and almost crumbled during this period of Erathi history, Eastern Ovgena kept a strong hold on its smaller territories, leading to a fear from the [[Altheid Dynasty|Altheid Line]] to lost the cold race towards cultural dominion. In the wake of this observation, a series of claims made by the Western Queen deteriorated the relationship between the two nations, until ultimately, the Altheid declared the [[First Sisterly War]], bringing the main branch of the [[Umbertihl Dynasty|Ciarin Dynasty]] to an end, and putting the Eastern Queendom in a state of near-vassalization. This aggression continued for almost 800 years, developing into a heated bitter hatred between the two countries, with a sense of revanchism developing in the midst of the [[Mozan Ovgenian|Mozan]]. However, by the end of the 13th century, the hold of the [[Korhin Queendom]] over its people was failing, and a protest movement known as the [[Great Deferent Revolution|Deferents Uprising]] crossed the country and overtook the power. It is in this context that the Hierarchy, placed in power after the Uprising, edicted the doctrine as a rule to defer to.
