Ibune is an [[Erathia|Erathi]] continent home to the majority of the [[Humankind|human population]], the site of many of the first civilisations in recorded history, and the Land of the [[Aspects]]. The continents contains 16 fully recognised nations, with most of the western parts of the continent left unsettled and hundreds of communities living outside of the rule of bigger states.

# Geography
Ibune is located almost entirely in the southern hemisphere, also straddles the equator, and spans the entirety of the western hemisphere, as well as the easternmost latitudes of the eastern hemisphere. It is bordered by [[Ovgenian Sea]] to the Northeast, the [[Adamant Waters]] to the North separating it from [[Jressar]], the [[Urute Divide]] to the West, separating it from [[Thakkar]], the [[Great Ocean]] to the Northwest and West, the [[Grey Depths]] to the West and Southwest, and the [[Shivering Ocean]] to the South and the [[Sea of the Sisters]] to the East.
The continent includes the [[Sunken Kingdom of Herrenfal|Herrenfal]] archipelago in its territory, as well as the [[Jeril Islands]] separating the Great Ocean from the [[Sea of Excess]].
Ibune's territory is mostly developed in the northeastern regions, around the warm waters of the Sea of Sisters, although several smaller nations have developed alongside the Urute Divide and beyond [[Oblivion's Range]]. The region, north of the range, is defined as Northern Ibune, whereas the region located between Oblivion's Range and the [[Gorge]] about 5,000 kilometers further to the southwest is named Central Ibune, and finally, the region located west and northwest of the Gorge all the way to the Grey Depths is called Western Ibune or Far Ibune.
The geographical structure of Ibune is deceptively hard to describe considering the size and variety of the continent. The major features of the continent, from north to south are the following :
- The [[Sunken Kingdom of Herrenfal|Herrenfal]] archipelago, composed of over a thousand islands, that used to be part of mainland Ibune, before the [[Sundering]].
- The [[Trosua]], a mountain range covering the northern half of Northern Ibune, marked by its tropical plateaus.
- The [[Alorgia]], the rainforest covering most of the central part of Northern Ibune, with four nations having claim to its territory.
- [[Oblivion's Range]], the highest known mountain range on Ibune, and potentially on [[Erathia]]. It marks the crossing between Northern and Central Ibune.
- The [[Solitude]], starting at the foothills of Oblivion's Range, is a desert covering the majority of the eastern part of Central Ibune.
- The [[Ordelado Wilds]], a vast expanse crossing the continent from east to west, it's home to several nations.
- The [[Gorge]], a wide mountain range spanning the entire width of Ibune at its narrowest branch.
- The [[Furthest Peaks]], an unexplored mountain range, only observed from the sea, located in the southern part of [[Far Ibune]].

# History
The history of Ibune is traditionally divided accordingly to the great [[History and Myths|Ages of Erathia]], and while most of our historical understanding starts during the second half of the [[Age of Knowledge]], the great events prior to that point are part of the teachings of the [[Retelling]].
## Age of Creation
The first signs of the [[Five People]] walking Erathia are in the ancient city of [[Rhoening]], which was built by the Aspects to welcome its creations in a single settlement, some 12,000 years ago. Traces of agricultural progress can be found in the archeological remains of the city. These technological remains have been found in the boundaries between the southern Trosua and the northernmost part of Oblivion's Range, suggesting that [[Humankind]] used to populate this entire area under the guidance of the Aspects. It is estimated that 2,000 to 7,000 such sedentary settlements were established in Northern Ibune in that period, bringing the global human population of that time to slightly less than a million individuals.
Our understanding of the period also indicates that some crossing of the Eternal Seas, now known as the [[Sea of the Sisters]], took place in the later centuries of the Age. These crossings would have been the first splinters of human culture, as well as the first known sailing attempts.
## Age of Insurrection
## The Fall
The Fall remains a misunderstood period across Erathia, but more importantly in Ibune. At the time, the [[First Night of the Aspects]] was undergoing, and a major faith crisis overtook what was not yet named the [[Aspectdom of Than]]. The emergence of several doomsday cults and a defiance against local rulers and the luxurious decay that overtook the capital city of the Aspectdom. When Rhoening fell, the Aspectdom crumbled in its wake. The exact time it took for this collapse to unfold is unclear to us, but the repercussions were manifold: settlements became isolated from one another, brutality went rampant, local overlords used the power vacuum to take hold of vulnerable regions, and pagan faiths started developing away from the echoes of the Aspects.
The Fall was also likely to be a period of great migrations, as the emergence of the first records of the Age of Knowledge indicate a higher porosity between members of the Five People and an erasure of differentiating physical features - which we have seen reemerge more clearly since the beginning of the Reign of Blood.
