# The First Rulers The Tromeri are the last noble creation of the [[Court of Voices]]. Born to rule, they are the tainted representation of the Aspects that created them. Arrogant, vile, cunning, their reputation for manipulation is preceded only by their ability to rule the masses of Erathia. Brought to life last by the [[Burner of Souls]] and the [[King of Kings]] as the final piece the [[Five People]], they were favoured by the rest of the Aspects to lead their siblings through the [[Three Comings of the Aspects]]. They failed. Their alliance with the [[Scorched Guard]] was the most heinous act of their history, and it led to the infamous [[Scorched Conquest]]. The treacherousness they manifested during the Reign of Blood was such that the Aspects decided to bane their creation with the [[Decline]], a warning to anyone foolish enough to rebel against the rule of the gods. Hundreds of winters of penance ensued, but the depth of this treason could not be forgotten. There are wounds that do not heal easily. Bearing the sign of their vile intent, the Tromeri are forced to live shorter lives than the other People, and to suffer the consequences of their betrayal. Ostracised by their kin, repelled to the outskirts of cities or forced to adopt a nomadic lifestyle, the First Rulers of Erathia are now barely more than a shameful memory of Erathi history. In their contrition, the Tromeri have developed an acute capacity to track the deeds of their forebears. Despite their tainted reputation, some seek their talent as bookkeepers, archivists, genealogists or lawmen, to keep their business in order. It would take a foul however to believe that these skills are enough to grant a blank slate to a bloodline. To this day, having a traceable Tromeri ancestry is enough for an individual to be pushed to the fringes of a social group, or to be seen as a glorified handymen by most inhabitants of [[Aspectdom of Ovgena|the Aspectdom]].
