The Cult of the Omniscient is a religious movement that arose in [[Jenburg]] in the months leading up to the [[Veiled Nights]]. It is one of the governing bodies of the city, and has been a major actor of its reconstruction. This movement, mostly composed of the lowest and humblest members of Jenburg's society, was formed in response to the suffering imposed on the smalfolks of the city during the [[Downfall Age]] of the city. The followers of the Omniscient call themselves the *Seers*. # History The Seers largely formed from the lower classes of Jenburg as a community refuge against the violence committed by the [[Hofeir]] during the period of the [[Downfall Age|Downfall]]. The violent enforcement of [[Thanirist Tone|Thanirist]] principles in the city pushed the population away from the Aspects, and created a fertile soil for the emergence of a new cult led by caretakers and bathmaidens from the public baths of the city. According to the biography of [[First Eye]] [[Emirens Sekrinska]], "the Omniscient was already there, waiting to be listened to, ready to guide those willing to hear its whispers. The maidens only carried those whispers to those in need of guidance." In the events leading up to the Veiled Nights and the trials that followed, the Cult of the Omniscient became a rising force with interests in multiple aspects of the city's unrest. Their preachers were responsible for many an harrowing speech against the corruption of the officials. Following the fall of the Hofeir and their government, the Cult of the Omniscient became a central part of the city's organisation, and was progressively adopted by the majority of the population. while the transition has been mostly peaceful, there have been occurrences of faithful of the Aspects being forced to be exiled from the city unless they converted to the Cult.
